Fuji
Meet Fuji proud mom of three and has been serving the Okinawa Chiraumi aquarium for 35 years.
In the early 2000 she was diagnosed with Eso in her tail fin. the vets and the staffs were at a lost they did not know what to do. But as it so happened the vet on duty was a young inspirational man and did not want to give up.
He convinced the staff members and decided to cut away the Eso part of the Fin and pray for survival.Fuji came through, but was struggling for she lost the momentum to swim. Intervention was then launched as the Fuji project began it was a collaboration with Bridgestone tires...After many prototype they came up with a well designed and flexible artificial fin for Fuji to enjoy her swimming again. Next time your up north Visit the wonderful Fuji pool outside the aquarium does cost but the Fuji pool and the great stretch of land is a great place to enjoy many of Okinawa's beauty
